'The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers.'

— Act IV, Scene 2

Part of the 2012 Globe to Globe Festival.

Adonis Filipi directs Shakespeare's great meditation on riot and rebellion, performed in the Globe Theatre.

Synopsis

Young King Henry returns from wars in France with Margaret, his new Queen. The domineering Queen and the Earl of Suffolk take advantage of the King’s weakness to further their own political ends, much to the horror of the Duke of Gloucester. As the lords scheme and plot against one another, Jack Cade stirs up dreams of rebellion amongst the peasants, and, as the Wars of the Roses begin, King Henry is forced to take up arms to defend his crown.
